Natural Roach Remedies

Natural Techniquesgeckos eat roaches
Parasitic Wasps
The cockroaches worst nightmare is the Emerald Cockroach Wasp. This wasp paralyzes an adult cockroach and lays its eggs into its abdomen. One female wasp may incapacitate several roaches in the breeding cycle. Some people have used this technique, but most people don’t want thousands of wasps in their home. This technique is better for outdoor areas. The good news is that these wasps do not sting people.

Other Cockroach Predators
Natural cockroach enemies include wasps, spiders, frogs, birds, lizards, beetles, mantids, ants and mice.

Some people like to let their pet frog or Gecko out at night to eat the creatures.

Old Fashioned Mechanical Techniques
Keep cracks sealed and don’t provide food or water. Realistically this will help for prevention, but once infested you need a way to get rid of them.

Glass Jars
Glass jars can be placed indoors or outdoors. Fill a glass jar a third of the way up and place food bait in the jar. Make sure that roaches can enter jar. You can put the jar next to a wall or place sticky tape on it. The roaches will fall in the jar and can’t get out.

Powdered Sugar And Baking Soda
Mix baking soda and powdered sugar in a 1 to 1 concentration. Place the mixture as a dust where roaches go.

There are many sugar and poison concoctions people use. Boric acid and sugar is one of the most effective, as home remedys go. Boric acid however, is not a natural home remedy.

Bait
Professional bait control, while not natural, it is one of the least toxic methods to use. Boric acid is very safe compared with insecticides and other methods of treatment. It is so harmless, roaches do not even realize they are in danger after ingesting it.

The safest techniques are natural methods. If they do not work, we suggest bait because it is the least toxic non natural method of treatment.
