Roach Reproduction
Roaches reproduce sexually. There are female and male roaches. The female carries an ootheca (egg casing). The egg casing can carry hundreds of eggs or less than fifty. It depends on the type of roach. For home invasions, most of the egg casings will carry around 50 eggs.
The roaches take about 3 months to grow from egg to adult. The average roach lives about a year and can reproduce 6-8 times per year. That means one female could make 400 (50 * 8) new babies per year.
Most people with roaches have hundreds of them. Consider how many babies 100 female roaches might have in a year. It looks like the number would be around forty thousand (50 * 8 * 100). Of course it matters the conditions and what kind of roach. The point is that, if you are infested with roaches, that’s a lot of insects to get rid of.
Roach Killer Recommendation
The reproductive capacities of the roach make it difficult for elimination. That’s why we recommend using a bait that will get rid of the roach nest. Roaches are communal creatures and will work together on eating the bait and that will eliminate all of them.
