Tools for Killing Roaches
Spatula
The spatula is used to spread out the roach bait. A small spatula will do the job.
Sprayer
For a pretty low cost, you can purchase a pesticide sprayer at your local big box chain store. The hard part is to know what to put into it.
Gloves
Plastic or latex gloves are used to keep pesticide and bait away from you. The other factor is the gross factor. Some places heavily infested will have lots of roach droppings everywhere. The gloves will also help keep you away from the diseases that roaches carry.
Boots
Suppose you wore open toed shoes while applying the roach killer. You would get roaches running over your feet and be more likely to get pesticide on your feet skin. It is a much better idea to wear some boots. It will protect you better and be better for smashing roaches.
Long Sleeve Shirts and Pants
Once again, it’s more sanitary to have long sleeve shirt and pants. You don’t want to have your arms and legs touching all the roach feces. The other factor is that the roaches may crawl on your bare skin and lots of people don’t seem to like that.
Mask
Fumigation and spraying for roaches will require you to wear a mask. The severity of the chemical used will determine the safety needs. You should consult the MSDS to see what is necessary.
Bait Gun
The bait gun is basically a small caulking gun. It makes the application of bait a little less messy.
Roach Killer Tips
The best roach killer will eliminate the nest. Roaches reproduce so quickly that nest elimination is critical. Find a product that roaches will take back to the nest. We think a good quality roach bait is the best solution.
